The voice in you

The voice in you
The voice in you

We all are unique and naturally gifted. But, I think, most of us fail to identify and hear the voice that
comes from within. The inner call could be in the form of sports you like or the passion to dance, sing or
create something innovatively. Your likes orient you intrinsically to act as a magnate and you get pulled
towards similar forces of higher value. But, I have seen that most of the people ignore the inner voice
and get influenced by noisy social conditioning.
The root cause of this ignorance is the lack of will and skill to convert passion into a workable reality.
Since we fail to visualize the earning potential of the intrinsic passion, we let the creative passion die
slowly, if not willingly. It is not your fault, because being a social animal it is very natural to get socially
conditioned. Everyone in your social circle wants you to be someone else, be it doctor, engineer or
someone else. But, they fail to realize that the world couldn’t have seen cricketing genius like Sachin
Tendulkar if he would have followed the same social path. And this isn’t just about the little master,
every icon of past and present like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, and Mark Zukerberg followed the inner voice
and redefined the boundaries of their sphere.
If you look deep inside the life of these people, you will find they were not academic brilliants, at least
not in social parameters. But, they knew what they want and had the passion to follow the path. Were
they wired differently? Of course not, but they were passionate about what they wanted in life.
Unfortunately, our education system has been designed to produce labor force at a mass scale and
doesn’t let the creative spark to shine. The loaded routine curriculum centered on memorization
virtually blocks any possibility of inner-voice centric creative growth. There is nothing wrong with the
formal education system, as we all need basic learning to pursue advanced studies but should it be at
the cost of killing passion? The formula-driven approach might help several people, but when it comes
passion-driven learning and growth they are bound to question and defy the formula and seek ways to
realize the potential. Those who could hear the inner voice will find it difficult to connect with the time-
tested success formula. The creative spirit will keep them ignited to innovate and try something new to
create something extraordinary.
If you are visionary with a passion to try new things you will have to face social resistance as they are
not conditioned to see anything that is beyond the defined parameters. Mark Cuban rightly said, “when
anyone tells me my idea is crazy or I am crazy then I just know I am onto something very important.”
When Mark bought the NBA team ‘Dallas Mavericks’ by paying $280 million, people were very critical of
his motive and intent. When asked about his motive he plainly said that he just loves basketball and was
willing to put that much money and energy needed for this to work. Sports and investor community was
in shock as the team Dallas Mavericks had never won in finals. But the team won the finals under his
name and that is called the passion.
This is what passionate people do. They go by inner calling and sometimes defy the traditional rules of
the game and redefine them with the power of vision and will. He just followed his passion for the
game, but ultimately he became an owner of the basketball team.

The story of modern contemporary genius Elon Musk is also the same. His passion for the computer
since childhood made him master coder and ultimately he co-founded Paypal with brother. After the
success of Tesla cars, he is currently busy building SpaceX. So, your passion is something you should pay
attention to and pursue. Your passion will pay you more than your expectations. However, the early
journey is going to be a lonely one as you won’t have many supporters. If you want to live life the way
you want, you have to be ready to pay this much cost, at least.
