Consistency is the Key to Success

Consistency is the Key to Success
We, humans, tend to get distracted easily now more than ever before. Apart from the real-life responsibilities of family, friends, and other relationships, one is supposed to be active on social media as well. In the contemporary hyper-competitive ecosystem, your consistency is the key driving force behind the success. Ups and downs are bound to happen, but your perseverance keeps you on the path to glory.

I have started blogging recently and was enjoying it as I was under the impression that it should always be inspiration driven. But this notion couldn't last long as the New York Times best-selling author  Maria Folio said in an interview that she writes even when she does not feel like writing. She rightly said it would be impossible to complete any book if she starts writing driven by inspiration only. This triggered a parallel thought in my mind and found acceptance.

It was like removing a huge burden from the mental balance. It is perfectly natural to not always be in an inspirational state to write.  When some best-seller writer says that one needs not to be in an inspirational state forever to write something, then it makes a huge impact. The endorsement gave me a huge boost and started writing even when not in an inspirational state of mind. Ultimately, it is the consistency that matters the most in the journey.

Some people confuse consistency with rigidness. In reality, you have to be very flexible and consistent in your approach to deal with the situation. You might have to change what you do according to circumstances. Like, right now, we all are working from home and executing responsibilities with desired flexibility without sacrificing the consistency.

One person from my sales team is now learning all about Pinterest and Tik Tok because I told him to promote my jewelry brand 'Jewels by Preeti' in these platforms. The idea is to have visibility, and by the time this pandemic ends, we need to have a strong presence to attract customers. What I am trying to say is that tell your team members to multitask as this not the time to sell luxury items. Customers are under emotional and financial stress, and they might show strong resistance to luxury spending.

So, I m being consistent with my work. Earlier, we use to sell from my jewelry lounge, but now we are promoting more aggressively through social media. Also, your staff can learn everything on the internet. So, whatever is their designation, you should ask them to do new hinges, but your work as an entrepreneur is that you have to be consistent.

Learn to read the situation and act accordingly.  The best thing about today's digital world is social connectivity. This 24x7 networking makes it more interesting as you have to be very price-conscious during the period of economic distress. So, currently, one of the most important aspects I am working on is online selling and affordability.

What I am trying to highlight is the situational flexibility with consistency. I can say it from my own experience that the victim mentality doesn't help. It weakens your foundation. The best workable strategy in the crisis time is to keep your team members engaged in creative learning. Its a matter of time, and we will all get through the tough situation. The only thing is to learn lessons from the coronavirus pandemic and implement it effectively to be back in action when normalcy returns.
